CHAPTER 1: INFORMATION SYSTEMS: AN OVERVIEW
According to the reading, I think nowadays the
different technological resources represent an important aspect in lives of
people and organizations. These resources have become an essential tool for all
organization, which use them in order to reduce costs and gain greater
competitive advantage within the business sector in each of them operated.
Besides, the use daily of these resources represents an important factor for
each of them.
Today, many information systems manage our activities,
no matter what you choose. These tools allow coordinating, leading and
facilitating the activities and information between organizations. However,
these resources are also used by individuals who want to incorporate technological
technics in their daily activities, such as in the university, courses online
or in any situation that may suggest their use. In addition, these systems are
too fast and make the process more practical, in turn, they help to determine
techniques, strategies and objectives appropriate for each organization and for
each individual according to their needs.
Thus, the knowledge of these resources and
communication systems begin to be an essential asset for any organization, for
workers and to every individual regardless of their profession, because in the
near future, computers, information systems and information technology will
help to individuals and organizations to be more effective and productive, if
they make to use smart and strategic of them.
Then, there plays a key role that you have the skills
required for the productive use of these technological resources as well as the
accurate knowledge and understanding of all them and so, through them get to
generate effective information, which will be puts into play with the business
intelligence through, of course, some components in regard to the delivery
information systems. These components (MIS – MANAGEMENT INFORMARTION SYSTEM -
DATA- DATABASE - PROCESS - INFORMATION) allow to structure, define (type) and
collect in a strategic, effective and easy way the information required within
each activity determined by each organization in regard to its role within the
society as a company (this includes determining its goals and strategies to
get, and objectives and factors to consider to pursue and maintain success).
Finally, I think the information systems are the
second most important resource within an organization after its human capital.
The timely, relevant and accurate information is an essential tool for the
progress and continuous improvement in every organization, in regard to its
competitive position in the marketplace in which it operates, it is a process,
which undoubtedly, will help to establish and run effectively all kinds of
strategies established by the organization. The personal computer technology
and the growth of information are reshaping the job within organizations and
the role of the end user and information worker. Therefore, programs in
business information systems are designed to give you a competitive advantage,
while also teaching you valuable skills as an individual. It is awesome...!!!
Technology nowadays offers many amazing opportunities to improve our personal
and professional skills in the business environment.
